Oh dear. Those darn woolabits from last year are back again. Apparently, Arabasti's punning in chat has made them a little crazy, and they have been sneaking into his lair.....and stealing his chocolate!! Basti, need I say, is THOROUGHLY unimpressed. I mean, we all know exactly how much he loves his chocolate....



Knowing that us Khimerians will do anything for a shiny, Arabasti is offering a reward for anyone who can locate 10 of his chocolates and bring them back un-nommed! Since he is an impatient beast, he is setting a time limit of 2 days to bring back the chocolate.

Fastest six chocolate finders will receive the following prizes:
1st person to find the chocolates = gold trophy + random purebred chrysalis
2nd and 3rd = silver trophy + winter forest pack
4th, 5th, 6th = bronze trophy.
Should you not be one of the first six to find all of your chocolates, not to worry! Arabasti still has a shiny waiting for you when you turn it in at his cave!

The chocolates are 20 x 20 px (read: small) and can be located on any page in khimeros, *excluding* user pages such as profiles and shops, forum threads/posts and search results pages. They may be located anywhere in the page.

When you find a chocolate, click it and it will take you to your chocolates checklist page. You can also access the checklist under "World" in the main navigation menu.

When you have located all 10 chocolates, you must visit Arabasti's page in the mountains and turn them in!

You are NOT allowed to collaborate on finding chocolates, or post anywhere on or off the site about where you found them (every person has a different list of places to find them, anyway).

Please note that you won't find chocolates on individual khimera, khimbit, user profiles, or user shop pages or HA pages, sent or received messages, nor will you find them in forum threads or posts. Basically, those sneaky little woolabits can't get into your personal pages to deposit the chocolates, so you will only find them in the more "public" locations....
(Also keep in mind that if your chatbox is open over page content, it might get in the way!)

If you are not online for this event... don't worry. I have a feeling that Arabasti doesn't plan to stop his punning, and those woolabits look like they're already scheming to get him again...

Hi everyone, I am sorry to interrupt the festivities with some srs business, but sometimes it can't be avoided.

Yes, this is long. Yes, you need to read it all, please.

When we created the site, we wanted to allow people a little freedom with being able to exchange gifts with other family members/spouses in the same IP, and to allow people to share accounts with friends. We thought that by saying "only occasional gifts between accounts on the same IP", users would keep it reasonable.

Unfortunately, we now have very serious issues with rampant multi-account abuse. There are in some cases more than 6 or 7 accounts on the same IP, all sending items and khimeras merrily back and forth and in many cases, concentrating all items on one "main" account. And this is NOT at all uncommon.

It is... well... very unlikely that numerous users have 3, 4, 5 + people in the same household, who all play khimeros. I'm sure there are a few cases where this is "legit" but certainly not in the numbers that we are seeing on the database.

Well, can't we just track the evildoers and freeze them instead of "punishing" everyone, you ask? Sure. If I could devote my entire day, every day, to examining account details, examining transfers, examining people who've "sold" their entire account to their sister and want two accounts on the same IP amalgamated into one account, when we know very well this is a blatant case of multi account abuse... to track down what the heck is going on when there are 4 or 5 people all sharing accounts with a bunch of other people and items, currency and khimeras going back and forth...

Sadly, the staff are not super-human. We can't keep up with it. And when there's this much account abuse going on, it's not good for the economy. And it's not fair to other users who are paying good money to upgrade their lair space, and some other person is using a fake "sister" to have two accounts and double their lair space, especially when they play twice the games, and then send "gifts" to their "sister" and end up far ahead of the honest players in the game.

I think you can see that where this is heading, is that we have to make some rule changes. Yes, it's going to suck. Yes, people affected by this are going to suffer some inconvenience. I apologize for that and truly wish this was not necessary :c

Regarding the sharing of accounts:

What we've decided is this. If you really MUST share an account, then you still may, HOWEVER the only case where you can share an account, is if there is only ONE account being accessed by both people (or by all three people, or whatever the case may be).

Meaning, if Sally and Jim each have an account, then Sally and Jim can't each have their own account, but also share Sally's. They can only have ONE account between them and they must dispose of the other account.

IF you are now currently sharing and you want to amalgamate into one account, you need to put in a help desk report. We WILL check out the accounts involved. We're not going to be crazy strict about it, but we are going to check for any blatant multi account abuse. If we find it, then you risk having all your accounts frozen.

If you've been playing the site according to the rules, then you have no problem. If you are one person exploiting multiple accounts and think this is a great opportunity to get all your ill-gotten gains onto one account, you might want to think again before putting in that help desk report ;)

If you are one of the (many, many) many who have been abusing multiple accounts, I strongly recommend that you take this opportunity to pick an account, stick with it, and abandon any extras now while you can - because Nas has created some tools that make it easier for staff to keep track of all transfers of beads, trinkets, items, and pets and spot anything that looks suspicious, from now on.

Yes, we can check shops too, and yes if you're trying to funnel items through a second user, from one of your accounts and back to another, we can see that as well.

Just don't do it. You've been warned, and we WILL be cracking down and freezing accounts that do this from now on.

(Please note: this is NOT an "amnesty"; we still reserve the right to freeze anyone we find breaking the rules)

IF you are currently sharing and want to amalgamate, you may continue accessing the shared account for two weeks' time or until your help desk report is cleared, whichever period of time is longer. This applies ONLY if you submit a help desk report within 7 days.

If you are currently sharing and you want to split up your communal items and stop account sharing, again be sure to put in a help desk report and wait for a response BEFORE you start mass-transferring items, pets, currency, etc.

If you have a question regarding specific things because you, for example, have created custom khimera sets that are meant to breed together and now have to split them up, include your question in your help desk report.

Regarding multiple users on the same IP address:

This applies whether you live in the same household, or if you just visit a friend's house who also plays khimeros, and log in from their IP. EVER.

You may send, once every two months, ONE OF: a) a khimera, generation 2 or over; b) an item or khimbit worth less than roughly one bead at the going rate; as a gift.

You may NOT send currency between accounts that access the site from the same IP. If you wish to purchase something from another user who accesses the site via the same IP address, please do so using their shop, auction, or upcoming trades system. All purchases must be FAIR VALUE. Attempts to circunvent these rules through any site system other than direct transfers - like shops or auctions - will also be grounds for bans.

If there is more than one account on the same IP that uses the same paypal account to purchase beads, please make sure the beads are purchased on the account they are meant for. Don't purchase all beads on one account and then transfer some to the other person's account.

Boiling it down: Play the game on your OWN account. We now have better tools for watching the transfer of items, pets, and currency between accounts. We WILL be cracking down on multi account abuse. Just don't risk your account.

P.S. The fact that you have two accounts and you post actively in the chat or forums from both accounts, pretending to be two or more different people, can NOT be used as "proof" that you are more than one person if we investigate you for multi account abuse. If you are attempting to transfer more items or pets than are allowed, between accounts, then you open yourself up to possible account banning.

Changes have been made to the TOS to reflect these new rules. Be sure to read over the changes.

It seems the NPCs have decided to have a bit of fun with us Khimerians, and are pelting the users with snowballs when they least expect it! When you are hit by a snowball, it will be collected and placed in your inventory.



Regular Snowballs are worth 1 point. Icy Snowballs are 2 points, and Super Frozen Snowballs are worth 3 points. You risk being hit by all three types when posting in the forums, foraging in any of the foraging areas, or talking in chat.





The more you post in the chat and forums, and the more you go out and forage, the more chances you have to collect snowballs and the more points you will gain!





Like last year's Winterfest Event, there will be a Winterfest Prize Shop that will open after the event, where you can spend all the points you've collected on limited edition Winterfest items!





There is a minimum character requirement for a forum post to be eligible to receive a snowball. You can still post shorter replies, but these posts will not be eligible to receive snowballs. We'd also like to remind you that spamming the chat is NEVER permitted. Dragging out a message over multiple one or two word chat posts will not at all be tolerated.


You may NOT spam, or pad your forum posts with smilies, nonsense or anything but legitimate post content. Anyone caught spamming will be disqualified from participating in the event and may have their snowballs confiscated.


Please do not post new threads that have no legitimate topic or reason for existing other than to gain snowballs.


Please READ the forum rules before posting and remember that in the sales forums you are only allowed ONE thread on the front page.


The "forum games" subforum is not included in this event.


We can only have events like this in the future if people don't get carried away with the spam, so please keep that in mind if you'd like to see more forum events in the future ;)

We're releasing three major features today. Please read this entire news post as it explains how to use each one. If you have any questions, post here as a comment!

Auctions
You can now auction your khimeras or items (or both!) for beads or trinkets automatically. Just go to your auctions page to create a new auction.

Once you have created a new auction you can click on it to begin adding khimeras or items you want to auction, or to change its information. If you have added everything you're auctioning at once, click the "Start this auction" button.

Your auction will run for the length of time you specify. You can choose to let it run from 1 to 3 days. Once the time is up you will receive a message letting you know you've received the winning bid if it ended successfully or that items have been sent back to you if no one bid.

You can have as many auctions as you want at once, but if people abuse this we may have to limit them. So be reasonable!


If you want to view open auctions, these are listed in the main auctions page! You can also search by a specific item if you wish.

If you bid on an auction and someone bids higher, your bid will be immediately returned to you. If your bid is the winning bid you will receive a message at the end of the auction letting you know any items or khimeras have been sent to you automatically. :) Like with the site auctions, you can request a notification if you are outbid in any auction by ticking a handy little checkbox when making your bid.


Along with auctions we're releasing an "auctions" module for profile that will always keep an up-to-date list of your current open auctions!


Forum Pinging

The forums have a pretty nifty new feature that enables you to "ping" users! To do so, enter their name anywhere on your post, ignoring any spaces if they exist. To ping me, for example, you'd enter @Nas anywhere and I will receive a ping notification. :)

Your ping notifications will take you to a list of your pings - both of people who've pinged you and of people who you've pinged. If you do not wish to receive these notifications, you may turn them off in your account setup under Forum Options.


Block List

We've added a block list accessible from your Main menu. Any users you add to this list will not be able to send you messages or transfers of any kind. You will still be able to see their posts in the chatroom or forums. People who you've added to your block list may still ping you in the forums, but you will not receive a notification and these pings will not show on your list.

(You are encouraged to block people who you don't want to have contact with. But if they harass you in the forums or chat, please submit a help desk report!)


New Kimonos to Craft

Thimble is now offering to create kimonos for your male and female characters!



There are 5 different colours for each gender.



These will be available for a couple of months, but of course, you will want to try these on as soon as possible.
