I'd just like to clarify a point regarding "lineart edits" and the scope of themed customs.

When we say "no lineart edits" that means that not only can you not request the actual "lines" of the pet to be altered, but you can't add anything that falls outside the lines. That means things like jewelery and clothing, but also things like stars, sparkles, mists, smoke, flames, etc that are outside the pet's lineart. The artist MAY on occasion add such things, but you cannot *request* them.

There is one exception, however! You MAY ask for an outer glow to be added to your custom as one of your "three details". Be sure to give a detailed description if you have a preference - i.e. a very transparent glow, a heavy glow, a thin glow, a diffuse glow, to help Hibbary with her interpretation, but keep in mind that just like all other aspects of these customs, it always comes down to artist's interpretation, so don't order something if you are going to be upset that it came out a bit differently than what you envisioned in your mind's eye ;)

You may still add the details regarding a glow to your order even if you have ordered/been approved already. Just PM Onyx with the details (make sure you haven't already used up your three details, first).

Until May 15th, 2012, you can order a custom draakith alternate khimera!

Customs will be colored by Hibbary. You may choose colors for the body, bat wings, feather wings, belly scales, mane, horn, and eyes, plus a theme - or you can just choose a theme and let Hibbary pick the colors, or you can just say you'd like "blues and greens" or "rainbow colors" etc, and leave the exact color placement up to her.

You may also name your custom color! For example, on their page they will be labelled as "Galactic Storm Draakith" much like our other alternates are named "Tiger Panthira" or "Natural Ayalar".

Examples of themes: "starry sky", "oceanic", "volcano", "paint splatter", "rave", "white tiger". Please keep in mind that you cannot request lineart edits, including the addition of things like clothes or jewellery, and choose accordingly. For example, "steampunk" does not necessarily make a good theme in this case, because it would likely require lineart edits to really create a steampunk effect.

Hibbary reserves the right to ask that a new theme be chosen if she feels she cannot realistically create a requested theme without lineart edits or for any other reason. The site also reserves the right to approve all themes for appropriateness. You cannot withdraw your order once it has been placed, so make sure you ask any theme-related, or other questions, in the INFO THREAD before placing your order.

FYI, this time around, all orders will need to be *approved* before they are passed on to Hibbary for completion. Some orders snuck through last time that did not really fit within the parameters for "themed" customs, because they had already been started/finished before the discrepancies were caught. Also, we will be looking more carefully for copyright issues this time around, so please do not ask for customs based on copyrighted or trademarked characters or other material. You may not link to any kind of copyrighted movie posters, characters or other images unless it's just for general color inspiration. You MAY ask for customs that are *inspired* by a particular song, however.

More than one person can order the same theme, but each one will be individually created.

This time around you MAY ask for up to three SMALL "specifics". A small specific detail means something like "four white feet", "white spot on the forehead". This does NOT include asking for a very specific and detailed pattern. All requests for specifics will need to be approved by staff before your order can be passed on to Hibbary for completion.

ALL CUSTOMS ARE ARTIST'S INTERPRETATION. This means that you may not ask for changes unless the custom is significantly different than what you asked for - for example you asked for blues and got oranges instead. This is to ensure that we can get any customs out in a timely manner and keep the price as low as possible. If you feel that you're likely to be upset if your draakith does not come out exactly the way you expect, please do not order a custom - this will save everyone from headaches.

This time around we are introducing a new feature with your customs! Every draakith khimera custom comes with a matching khimbit version! Your first khimbit is included with your custom, and you may generate extra copies for 10 beads each (for a limited time only - we will give everyone at least a week's warning before disabling khimbit creation).

All draakith custom images come applied over a generation 1 draak. All draaks will come with mane, horns, bat wings and feather wings by default and you must specify hex colors for these. You may also choose upper and under colors (you may also leave upper and under off, if you choose). If you wish to add extra patterns or variations to your draak, you may do so. Extra patterns and variations will cost $5 each. They must be paid for at the same time as you pay for your draakith, and you must specify the pattern order and hex colors for patterns and/or variations, in your order.

When ordering, you *must* send payment when posting your order and include "I have sent ____ beads to Onyx" in your order. Any orders that are posted without bead payment being sent will be deleted without warning. This is to avoid confusion. Making the process go smoothly helps keep prices down for everyone!

Custom draakiths cost 65 beads each, including the generation 1 draak. You may order as many custom draakiths as you like as long as you order before May 15th. We will be making every attempt to get these customs out in a timely manner, but be aware that it may take a few weeks for customs to be applied if we get swamped with orders.

There is no guarantee that orders will be completed in the order that they appear in the thread!

Some final thoughts

I have posted in the Draakiths thread in khimeros chatter, but boiling it down: You do not need to purchase a gold custom every single time we offer gold customs for sale. I know a lot of people have posted saying that it's "too soon" after khirins were offered; however we don't offer things for sale based on the idea that everyone will be able to, or want to, purchase one of every single thing we offer.

We want to be able to offer a variety of different pets and items, such that you can choose to purchase the ones that you particularly want - not that you should feel pressured to purchase one of every single thing. For those who weren't interested in khirins, or could not afford a khirin, we're now offering another kind of custom that may appeal to them more or that they happen to be able to afford now, though they could not afford a khirin. So please don't get "stressed out" at missing something - if you miss out this time, there'll be lots of other nice things offered in the future ;)

Out of beta, that is!!!

Yes, this is a great day for all khimeros. We are now officially out of beta!

This does not mean the site is 100% done... the site will never be 100% done as we'll always be tweaking and adding new features. However, we feel that we are now at a state of completion where we can say this is no longer a beta site.

We still have a list of things that need to be tweaked/coded, and we'll be working on that for the next little while. And since I know that many people are curious as to what's going on with tournaments, once the list has been worked through we'll be revisiting tournaments, and prizes for the previous tournament should be out in the near future.

We'll also be releasing some fun, cool new things over the next little while to celebrate!

First off, you may want to scurry off to check out or spiffy new home page! Click on the tabs on the side to view all the content, including our new site overview and current events pages! Also, some of you may recognize your very own khims in the featured khimeras and characters rotation! Refreshing the home page will also show you a random selection of items and khimbits on the site! (If you use IE as your browser, the tabs may not display 100% correctly for you. We'll be working on fixing this, but we do recommend firefox or chrome for using khimeros, in any case).

Secondly, there is a new site tutorial that can be viewed under the help drop-down in the main navigation menu!

Introducing our newest "alternate" khimera, the draakith!





Draakiths WILL be going into the custom demo at a later date. But first, we are making them available as gold customs.

Gold customs will work similarly to the way khirins worked, however keep in mind that khirins were offered at a reduced introductory price to celebrate the availability of gold custom khimeras. Draakiths will cost 65 beads each - HOWEVER, they will also include one free khimbit version of your custom! You will also be able to generate extra khimbit copies of your custom, for a limited time only, at a cost of 10 beads each.

We will be posting news tomorrow with all the details regarding gold draakith customs. We have streamlined the process after learning from the khirin event, so please be sure to read the news carefully if you are planning to order a custom.
