Hi all! There've been some changes made to the khimera demo/custom creator.

Firstly, instead of a finite list of patterns and vatiations, you can now click + Add another pattern or + Add another variation in the demo, for unlimited patterns and variations.

Also, when selecting a serum pattern, you can now manipulate the size and position all at one time instead of having to click between "move" and "resize"!

You may also note that we've made some changes to how the Pinta marking works, to bring it more in line with how it was originally intended to work.

Pinta -- our first and (so far...) only dynamic marking -- has 6 different forms, which up to now has been selected based on opacity, which was rather misleading; for example, Pinta with 100% opacity would show Pinta 5 (Pinto), whereas Pinta 101% would show Pinta 6 (Speckles).

This has now been changed so that Pinta variation is no longer selected via the opacity box. With the new system, opacity works the way it normally does with other markings, and there is an extra field to select the pinta variation. No changes will be made to the pinta variation of previously created khimeras.

How does this affect breeding, you ask? When you breed khimeras you may now pick whether to have dynamic markings randomised or not. If dynamic markings are randomised, a completely random Pinta will be given to the offspring, regardless of the variant "numbers" shown by the parents. However, if they aren't randomised, the Pinta that the offspring inherits is taken from between the two parents' variation numbers.

So, for example:

- If one parent has Pinta 1 and the other has Pinta 1, all offspring will have Pinta 1.
- If one parent has Pinta 1 and the other has Pinta 2, the offspring will have a random, equal chance of Pinta 1 or Pinta 2.
- If one parent has Pinta 1 and the other has Pinta 6, the offspring have a random chance of any Pinta!

Please also note that the "numbers" for the pinta variations have changed from what they used to be. The actual names of the variations are now included in the demo, to avoid conclusion. I will also be updating the guide to the pinta gene to reflect these changes.

Blocking input from users in the forums and the live chat

We've also made some tweaks to the block feature. You can now block a user on the forums OR in the chat - these blocks work independently - that is if you wish to block a user in both the chat and forums, you must do so separately.

To block a user in the live chat, click the [x] that shows after their posts. If you do this, you will no longer be able to view their chats in the shoutbox or the lounge. When you block a user, they are not notified of your block. To unblock a user, follow the "block list" link at the bottom of the shoutbox, or the bottom of the users online list in the Lounge.

To block a user in the forums, click the "block user" link under their tag. To access/manage your block list, you can use the link from the Lounge/shoutbox, or via the "block list" link under the "Communicate" drop-down in the main menu.

If you visit Onyx at the Tea Shoppe, she will now let you bring her foraging items in return for two new potions: the invisibility and visibility potions!



Using an invisibility potion on your khimera will... fairly obviously... turn them invisible. Visibility potions will return them to normal.

WHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS, YOU ASK?

Well if you like using a khimbit instead of a khimera as the focal point for your item equipping, you can now make a khimera invisible, and thus be able to make scenes using khimbits and backgorunds like the winter forest, cove, etc., without the khimera getting in the way. Nifty, huh?

As a side note, as some of you may have already noticed, Kai & Tai have received an updated look! Be sure to compliment them when you do your quests today ;)
