Fellow citizens of khimeros, we are entering an exciting new era of relationship between khimeras and humans. It has been almost six years now since humans rediscovered the world of khimeros. In that time they have found relics of ancient civilizations, hinting that humans existed in this world in times past, but some cataclysm occurred that resulted in the disappearance of all human life. Since this second coming of humankind, khimeras have been friendly but wary where humans are concerned, keeping hidden certain aspects of their life cycles. Fearing rejection and lack of understanding, khimeras allowed humans to maintain familiar but inaccurate ideas regarding gender and reproduction. Until now, no humans have been allowed to witness or understand the true nature of the khimera life cycle. The khimeras have now decided that it is time to make their true natures known. Two khimeras creating a new life Khimeras do not have "genders" or reproduce biologically in the way that humans do. Instead, every khimera possesses one of two forms of energy, Eion (what humans have thus far called "male") and Aion (what humans refer to as female). Except in a few rare cases, Eion and Aion khimeras do not have any physical differences; the difference is simply in the form of reproductive energy they possess. Khimeras do not have any reproductive organs and do not reproduce sexually as humans do. In fact, they do not have a sexual dimension of any kind. When a new khimera is created, an Eion khimera creates the chrysalis from the natural world around him, using earth, minerals, plants or any other natural substance to form the body of the chrysalis. During this process he imbues the chrysalis with his Eion essence and also shapes part of the unborn khima's physical appearance. He then passes the chrysalis on to an Aion khimera, who over the next two days, infuses the chrysalis with her Aion energy, and completes the shaping of the new khima, as she guards it from all harm. The two "parent" khimeras will generally use their own physical characteristics to shape the appearance of the offspring, but with some extra effort they may also use physical aspects of things in the natural world around them, like minerals, plants, and even other kinds of living creatures - including humans. The hybridization of life forms is part of the natural reproductive ethos of khimeras. Until now, khimeras have refrained from using humans as templates for the new life forms they create, fearing misunderstanding and revulsion on the part of humans, who until now did not understand their reproductive system. However, they wish very much to further extend their friendship with humankind and to show their acceptance of humans as part of the natural world of Khimeros. They hope that their human friends will not be alarmed to see khimeras appear in the near future who have some physical traits of humans. These new khimeras also seem to enjoy dressing up in human clothing, so we hope that humans will be kind and not laugh at them ;) 65 Comments

We have a new khimbit gracing us with its presence starting today, the Licorne! Special Sugar Grass Treats are now available in the Cash Shop! When a pool of Licornes is open you will see a green banner at the top of the site and try to tempt a Licorne HERE. New pools are added regularly so keep checking back! We also have a new Habitat Contest open! It will be open until Friday, June 26, 11:59PM site time.
