It's time for the December art contest, and the theme this time issss - Winterfest!

Your entry must contain at least one currently existing Khimera (meaning possible to exist, not necessarily one that you own), in "quad" form. It may contain more than one khimera, khimbits, humans, etc. and can be digital, traditional, sculpture, fabric art, etc. You must be able to provide a clear image of your entry, however. Can be colored or not.

The theme is "Winterfest", however you choose to interpret that! Each user may enter once.

The contest closes at 11:59 PM December 31.

Prizes:

1st place: a purebred chrysalis of your choice and a Khistopher jumbo plush

2nd place: 10 beads and a Khistopher jumbo plush

3rd place: 5 beads and a Khistopher jumbo plush

A random entry will also be selected from all non-winning entries to receive 5 beads.

Please do not PM your entries, but use bbcode to post either the link and/or a no more than 500 x 500 px image in the Winterfest Art Contest thread in the Contests and Games forum!

We've just added a feature that allows you to customise your profile using CSS. More information is available on this thread along with an example.

This is still in testing, but feel free to start messing with it. I'll be posting other examples as I finish them, and a more in-depth tutorial too. If at any time you want to revert back to the original profiles, simply erase all the text from your account setup. :)

And post on the thread if you've edited your profile!

We have increased the payout for both games by 20 TR per game/per level. This is in light of the fact that crafting has added an extra trinket-drain to the site due to more forageables being bought, and the fact that we doubled the price on foraging items in the not-so-distant past.

I don't want to crank up the payouts enough that it causes massive inflation, but there's no point in having games if the payout has become so small in relation to the cost of items and khimeras on the site, that no one bothers to play the games anymore :/

I know a lot of people are still confused about what kind of sales can be posted in the chat and how often. And people are upset that they can't link to khimeras that they want to talk about, just because they are for sale.

We're going to change the way this works. From now on, you may not link to ANY sales or ANY khimeras in the chat, for sale or not for sale, DIRECTLY.

However, you MAY talk about any khimera you wish to, in an on-topic manner, and you may post the ID # of the khimera so that anyone who wishes to look at them may simply copy and paste the ID # without a bunch of links disrupting the chat.

Yes that means you can post the ID # of "For sale" khimeras as well, as long as it's on topic.

Examples:

1. "I just had a bunch of new babies born and they are all for sale cheap! #2343, #234934, and #23927394!!!!" < This is NOT on topic. This is sales spamming.

2. "I really am warming up to the embarr-butt khimeras, I had this one born today that I think looks really neat #230823" < This is on topic, if the topic of the chat is currently about "embarr-butt" khimeras, for example.

You may also mention that you just had new khimas born, that you just got a new khima, that you are pleased with the outcome of a breeding, or whatever, as long as you are not using this as an excuse to sales spam. It's going to be up to the mods and admins to police this sort of thing.

I know that some people are not going to like this way of doing things, however, it's the only way that I can think of that allows people to openly discuss any khimera they want to, without filling the chat with sales spam.

Please remember that the mods are in the chat for a reason. I have done my best to choose sensible mods who can make a logical decision about what is leaning toward sales spam and what is not. Not everyone is always going to agree with the decisions they make, but you DO have to abide by them.

I have noticed an increase in arguing with mods in the chat. This is already against the rules, and I want to reiterate that from now on, arguing with the mods will result in warnings, and if necessary, chat banning.

I don't want people to feel they have to be paranoid in the chat or that you will be warned or banned out of hand, but as long as you respect the rules and respect the mods, you won't have to worry.

There has also been an increase in debate/arguing about site policies in the chat, to the point that it is disrupting the whole point of what the chat is there for - chatting. I am going to ask that these kind of debates be moved to the suggestions forum - that's what it is there for.

If a mod deems that a topic is getting out of hand or has gone on for too long and is disrupting normal chat, they will ask the chatters to please move on to another subject. Again, you ARE expected to listen to the mods when they ask you to do something.
