We hope you enjoyed our little April 1st Prank.
For those who didn't catch on, at a little before midnight we changed the image generation scripts on Khimeros and Gryffs. Khimeras changed into gryffs and gryffs changed into Khimeras. Images are regenerating normally again. If you refresh your gryffs images, they will turn back into khimeras of normal appearance. If you don't regenerate the images, the gryffs images will remain. We are asking everyone who wants to keep the gryffs images on their khimeras to please add a note to the description explaining that the image is from April Fool's Day 2010 and that regenerating the image will return the khimera to its normal appearance. This includes all that you are keeping and all that you are selling. 42 Comments |

As you may have noticed, we're introducing a new site theme!
There is still some work to be done with the CSS, colors to be changed, etc, but I am just too wiped to finish it tonight. I'll try to get it finished up tomorrow. Just temporarily, you are all forced to feast your eyes upon the new site theme. The option to change themes will be back soon xD In case you are wondering who that fellow in the new banner is, he's the blacksmith. You'll get to see a larger image of him in the future ;) Banner art: Lines by Hibbary, coloring by Jesse Maccabe. The lovely Ravnheart gave me indispensable help in putting the new theme together :3 Just as n FYI, I haven't had a chance to answer many messages in the past few days D: If you've sent me a message and I have not replied, I'll be trying to get through all my messages tomorrow. 21 Comments |

The new breeding script has been implemented.
After you click on the khimera you wish to breed, on the page where you choose who you want to mate them with, at the bottom, there is a dropdown box with "Default" (the old script) and "Bright" (the new script). Simply choose which script you would like to use when breeding. You must make the selection each time you breed a khimera. Remember that in general, the "bright" script works best when both parents are bright in color, but you have the option of testing out the possible results, using the color prediction tool in the Help menu. 12 Comments |

Nasire coded a new tool that many of you have been asking for... a color prediction tool for breeding your khimeras.
There are actually two options that you can choose from, "Default" and "Bright". "Default" refers to the current breeding script, and "Bright" refers to the new breeding script that we will be adding shortly. The new script uses a different colorspace and combines colors in a different way. It works best when using two bright, saturated colors together, like red and blue, and prevents colors from becoming dull or greyed-out. When the new script is implemented, you will be able to choose from the old script or the new script when you breed! The color prediction tool is accessible under the Help menu :) 16 Comments |

In case any of you have been wondering exactly which site artists make the wonderful items and markings that we have on the site, we've decided to put up a reference thread in the forums.
All the items that appear on the site each month, starting this month, will be displayed, with a link to the site profile or website of the artist who created them. You can find the thread HERE Just as a quick reference for previous months on some of our main site artists: Hibbary: all Khimeras, some of the initial khimbits and wearables (most of which unfortunately had to be re-drawn by other artists when we changed the overall site style), most of the current foraging items, the human characters, the foraging grounds and jump page images, most of the site banners, and the lineart for the NPCs. TehTwi: The vast majority of the khimbits, many of the monthly treasure items and pack icons, some of the foraging items, the Miasma pattern, the "Onyx" site banner that we used for a while during alpha, and probably some other stuff that I'm forgetting. Protagonist: Many of our wearable items, monthly items for upgraded users, and foraging items, plus icons for various items like the Scroll of Naming. Hanyoutai: Most of the khimera patterns since the site opened, including fae flames, feral tabby, vines, petals, and pandacoon Nikolay Stoyanov: Many of our initial craftables and a few foraging items. Some of the cash shop items like the Staff of Ice. Thomas Whitehouse: All of our equippable backgrounds (beach, meadow, etc), as well as the Pile of Snow item Jesse Maccabe: Colorist for all of our site NPCs, also made the Winterfest banner. Cara: designed the site layout and the Default and Winterfest themes Onyx: some of the foraging items, and the Holly Collar accessory (OK, I don't get much time for site art D:) Also does recolors for the other artists when they don't have the time/ability to do so, and prepares all the items to be placed on the site. 8 Comments |
