Monthly treasures are out, as well as a new item for upgraded members!

This is a special month, as we're celebrating "Alisiyad Month". Alisiyad is an amazing novel written by our very own Wild Rose #69, available both as a free web novel at www.srsuleski.com or as a print copy available through the website or directly from the author (note - Alisiyad does contain strong language, violence, and mature content).

I hope that you will enjoy the Alisiyad-themed items (you won't need to know the story to appreciate them), and check out the novel as well!

As a special feature, you will also receive a special Alisiyad background and equippable Erykumi Rag Doll item when you purchase a copy of the novel directly from the author.

We will also hold a raffle for 5 copies of the book + items later this month, as well as. You must be willing to provide a mailing address if you win. Raffle will be open to all upgraded members.

Direct purchase of the book, or winning in the raffle are the ONLY ways to receive this special Khimeros background and item. If you wish to receive your free Khimeros background and item with book purchase, you must contact Sarah directly either through her website or her account here (Wild Rose, #69).

Please do so BEFORE YOU PURCHASE as she does have some books on hand that should be sold before resuming sales through Lulu. Shipping charges do apply (for the book... not the items! XD).

For those who may not have noticed, the contest threads are up in the Official Khimeros Events forum.

Just remember that copyright still applies - you may not use art, brushes, etc that you do not have permission to use in your entries, that is images taken from photobucket, google, etc. without permission of their owners!

Now that we've entered open beta, it's time to get the world out about Khimeros! We were discussing ways to advertise the site in the live chat, and the idea of a contest was proposed.

So here it is! There will be four different categories:

1. Graphics and Multimedia

Create graphic buttons and banners, Youtube videos, any kind of graphic or multimedia advertisement that can be linked to or that people can use in their signatures on other site forums.

2. Create an Advertisement Thread

Create an advertisement thread outlining Khimeros as a site, with images and text, that users can post on other sites that allow advertising.

3. IRL Advertising Campaign

Get really creative and do something to advertise Khimeros in real life!

4. Create a Newsletter

Create a newsletter to e-mail to all Khimeros users, telling them about all the additions to site in the past several months to tempt inactive users to return to the site.

Prizes!

The top prize for each category will be one custom token of your choice. An overall winner from all categories will receive a Grand Prize of a custom token, a Khistopher Jumbo Plush, and your choice of any single item on the site (excluding custom khimbits).

Depending on the number and quality of entries, there may also be runner-up prizes, and from each category a random entry will be chosen to win 5 beads.

By entering, you are authorizing Khimeros to use any and all entries for advertising purposes.

You may use any Khimeros art to prepare your entries.

Entry threads with more information and rules will be posted in the Official Khimeros Events forum later today.

I just remembered that I forgot to post up this information thread from the Temp Forums.

If you don't have a paypal account or regular credit card, this thread will explain how to use pre-paid Visa or Mastercard gift cards to purchase beads. These cards are widely available in Canada and the United States from convenience stores, gas stations and Walmart, and international variations are available in many other countries. You do not have to be 18+ to use them, and you do not need to show ID or provide proof of residence to use them. Simply purchase the pre-loaded card and use it online.

The number of doombunnies on the Pounce boards have been reduced. The game was a bit too difficult to be really worth playing for trinkets, so we've hopefully adjusted it to make it a bit more reasonable to play.
