This is the proposed finished base for the first asadia-likos hybrid.

Now I'd like to remind everyone that these hybrids will not be the only ones. The idea is that after we have a hybrid done for everything, periodically we'll add more hybrids into the system that have different appearances. We can do this because we've shrunk the cost for the bases down to something reasonable. The new hybrids may just be random chance to get when breeding, or they might appear only after a khimera is generation 100+, or whatever. We can play around with ideas.

But for now, this would be the first asadia-likos hybrid.

I have provided three colors so that you can see what it looks like with a black base, a white base, and a colored base.

I've got a sheet of concept sketches to show you all. It seems that people are in general, in favor of making changes to the bases. I'd like to see what you all think of these. If they are generally liked, we can start getting them colored and shaded and show a few examples of the finished product.

So here we are, just over a year into site development, and it's time to take stock, and decide what we (meaning all users and staff) like best about the site, what we don't like, what we want to keep, what we want to toss out, and what we want to add.

I especially want to know your feelings regarding changing our existing khimera bases. Now, I'm not talking about the pets that have already been created. We are not going to take away your existing pets, but I'd like you to consider whether you'd be open to the possibility of changes as to how the pets will look in the future.

I'm not saying we are definitely changing things. I am saying that I want to find out how many of you are open to the possibility. There are several reasons why I am contemplating change. The first is that Hibbary feels she can do better now than what we currently have on the site. The bases are difficult to work with, and that's discouraging for the artists and is also expensive. Expensive means that we can't have NEW breeds and new hybrids etc anywhere near as often as we could be having them. And that means things start to feel a big stagnant.

What kind of changes? It's my idea that if you guys are open to seeing some changes, that we would come up with some different ideas, offer you some concepts and let you discuss them and vote on what you would prefer to see.

We will still have likos, asadia, embarr, etc. We will still have hybrids. But there are better ways of doing things than how we are currently doing things.

Pets are not the only thing up for discussion. Everything about the site is up for scrutiny, and we want to know what your favorite things are, what your least favorite things are, and what you'd like to see added to the site or taken away. Keeping in mind that battle/training and khimbit breeding are already on the slate for this year.

There have been some reports of some rather disturbing new creatures in the swamps and even more disturbing ones in the mountains! You'd better be careful, I don't know if you'll want these khimbits following you home....

This month there seem to be THREE collectible colors of each khimbit, though one is quite rare!
