We've added the ability, on your kihmera's training page, to remove/add your *trained* khimera from being available for other users to challenge. This way, if you wish to stop training a khimera but don't want it to keep being challenged, you can make it unavailable.

A few tweaks have been made to the battle system since the tournament opened, but in general things seem to be going well!

You will soon be able to view your battle points and win/loss record. We will post news when this information is available. A lot of people have been asking what battle points are for. At the end of the tournament, these will be used to determine trophy levels, prize points, and high score tables for battle and training.

Years ago, before humans first came to Khimeros, wild khimeras used to spar with each other regularly to hone their battle skills. Peaceful and quiet as the realm appears now, there have been times when this was not so, and khimeras had to fight evil creatures to keep their land safe.

When humans arrived, the khimeras ceased their sparring, sensing that humans would not understand and might be shocked or frightened by such displays of seeming ferocity. However, now that humans and khimeras have developed a closer and more understanding bond with each other, it is time for khimeras to return to their old ways, lest they be left unprepared, the next time that evil comes to the land. Perhaps, in time, some of their human companions might even learn to join in!

Khimeras have great powers of regeneration and take no lasting harm from battle. They are very proud of their fighting prowess, and love to show off their scars!

So, you ask, how does this battle thing work?

First we want to remind you that this is a BETA TESTING tournament. That means that it's quite possible that not everything will work optimally, and we may need to fix things as we go along. Participate at your own risk.

To access the main battle page, click HERE. This link is also available in the "World" menu.

Battle on khimeros is organized into "Tournaments". This means that you train your khimera(s) specifically for each tournament. After the Tournament is over, your khimera's stats will reset, but they will keep their trophies and battle honors. There will also be high score tables for each individual tournament, for both training and battles won.

The benefit of this is that even a newbie, or someone who has taken a battle hiatus can jump right into the next tournament and be on an equal footing with everyone else! Your battle khimera(s), if you always use the same ones, will basically keep a running score for you of how you have done in previous tournaments and be your personal "high score" table.

Battle is turn based, and involves stats, strategy, and luck. For a detailed overview of how it works, visit the Battle Guide, under the chat box on the main Tournaments page.

On the Tournaments page, you will find the Tournaments Chat, which is where you find people who have khimeras they wish to battle. To see a list of which khimeras a person has available for battle, click on their username in the online users list on the RIGHT side of the page. Clicking a username on the left side will still take you to their profile. You will be able to see which khimeras a user has trained for battle and what their level and win/loss record is.

Battle notifications will pop up at the top of the page. You do not need to refresh the page to see your battle invitations. You can accept or reject any invitation.

Keep in mind that battle involves training, strategy AND luck! Just because another khimera has a higher level than yours does not automatically mean they will always win, and vice versa!

So let's get started!

First you need to train your khimera(s)! Regular users may train and battle 3 khimeras, upgraded users may train and battle 4 khimeras.

To train your khimeras, go to their page and look just under "Options" for the link. Choose carefully, as once you have chosen the khimeras you would like to participate in the tournament, you cannot change your mind! You will not be able to transfer or sell your khimera until the tournament is over.

You have several different stats that you can train, and you can train once each hour as your khimera gains back their strength. If you don't train them each hour, they will progressively become less tired for a total of 8 hours, so you can "catch up" on training. As far as which stats you should train first/above others, you will need to develop your own strategy! Each training session costs 150 trinkets.

Once you have entered a battle, you need to pay attention. If you fail to make your move for five minutes after the other player has made their move, the other player can default the battle in their favor by clicking the "Default Battle" button on the main Tournaments page.

This is a heads-up that, barring any unforseen problems, the first battle tournament will begin on Monday!

During the first tournament, we'll be beta testing the basic battle structure, so there may be a few issues that will need to be fixed up as we go.

This will be a very simplified tournament, there will be no weapons used, or teas required for training (you will, however, need trinkets xD). We will be adding more features to battle in upcoming tournaments!

For the beta tournament, there will be trophies, battle titles, and items to be won (in particular... weapons! Which will be useful in upcoming battles).
