There's been some confusion about the new/retro enigmas regarding dates and what you can do during this transitional period. If you still have questions after reading this newspost, please post them as comments and they will be addressed.



- Retro enigmas can still be made until the 30th. We are extending this two-three days from the original date since there was some confusion as to when exactly it ended. On the 30th any existing prismatic crystals will not be useable anymore, but can be traded in for a refund via a help desk report.

- The new enigmas will be obtained in a wholly different way that will not cost trinkets or beads. This new way will give you a random opacity - you won't have a choice over the outcome. You will, however, be able to keep trying as many times as you want to obtain the opacity you desire.

- You may create new rainbow enigmas using a prismatic crystal, however, and by popular demand, we will introduce a way to create rainbow enigmas choosing the opacity that will cost 5 beads. If you create your new rainbow enigmas now you won't have to wait until later, but you will not have your prismatic crystals refunded partially (if you create them now, you will be spending 15 beads instead of 5, later).

- To create new rainbow enigmas during this period, you can create the custom as normal using a chrysalis (include rainbow as a marking), then choose your opacity using the Rainbow Enigma Demo and add it using a prismatic crystal. Any custom khimeras that you don't specifically request to have archived (as already mentioned here) through the thread available in the help forum are created in the new system so you can temporarily use this to create new enigmas.

- You have until the 30th to post on the relevant help thread to have any retro enigmas converted to the new system, if you wish. If you used a prismatic crystal on these on the 19th or before, you are elligible for a full 15 bead refund if you choose to convert them.

- You have three more days (until the 25th) to enter the custom enigma raffle posted in the Official Khimeros Events forum.

This is the third news post today, and you might want to check out the two below! One has a raffle for an asadia custom (cheap tickets! Buy them!) and another explains some changes to how rainbow enigmas are being handled from now on. This is important for you, especially if you own or plan to own rainbow enigmas.

A demo has been put up under Help (you can also get there by clicking here!) where you can preview all the new rainbow enigmas, provided you have a khimera with rainbow (even if the rainbow is not above 100 to make it an enigma).

And to recap from the other news posts: you have seven days to make any retro enigma customs (old enigma system), and post here to have them archived (as otherwise they'll be in the new system). If you want to have a custom that has been archived (has "Retro Enigma" on its page) converted to the new system, you should post instead here. Both these threads are also available in the Help forum - they are stickies, so they're easy to spot. :)

As some of you already know, we are changing the way rainbow enigmas work. The way we were handling them before required that we archive each possible variation of rainbow (101-255) for every single khimera (front AND back AND all fae, feather, and bat wings...) and as we found out, try as we might, it wasn't a manageable system.

So, starting now, all existing khimeras of generation 1, 2, and 3 have been archived in their current state and transformed into custom alternates. They will breed as custom alternates (panthiras, wulfs) do, with a chance to pass down their "Retro Enigma" alternate image (you can see this on their page). They will always pass down their markings as usual, rainbow included.

New enigmas (khimeras that were not archived of generations 4 and up, and khimeras that are bred now that do not inherit their parent's Retro Enigma alternate image) will become enigmas under the new system. This new system will have a lot more variation! Instead of keeping 155 images (for opacities 101-255) for each khimera front and back, we will now have 155 images only that are applied to the khimera bases. We will be rolling out these changes very soon, and you will only have to regenerate your khimera's image for it to appear.



Customs with enigma can still be created for seven more days. Use Prismatic Crystals (available through the Cash Shop for 15 Beads) to turn your khimeras into an enigma (they MUST have rainbow already!), and post on this thread to have them transformed into retro enigmas (you must do this step, as they won't regen properly under this new system).

If you choose to have your existing Retro Enigma custom switched to the new system, you will be able to pick from all the opacities available, and your prismatic crystal price will be refunded (ONLY if your crystal has been used BEFORE now though - we will not refund crystals used this week as that would give everyone free enigmas). Generation 2 and generation 3 khimeras that are Retro Enigmas can also be converted to the new system, but in this case they will take the image corresponding to their rainbow opacity.


You have seven days to create any retro enigmas and post them on this thread to have them turned into alternate customs (they will not show properly once regenned unless they are converted). After this, rainbow enigmas will only be obtainable in a different way, and will have a random element affecting the opacity (you won't be able to choose it.)

The second tournament has now been brought to a close. We hope you all had a good time! The high score table will be available sometime tomorrow.

Training and battling have been disabled, and the tea shoppe is now closed as well. Any teas you've already made can be kept, however.

We'll be working on getting out trophies and setting up the new tournament shop. Keep in mind that any unspent battle points from the first tournament will not roll over, so make sure you've spent all of your points on this month's items. Use 'em or lose 'em! :P
