The chrysalis event in chat has now been separated from other chat events! This means that even if you've claimed an item from a chat link in the past 24 hours you are still eligible for a chrysalis. However, if you have picked up a chrysalis in the past 24 hours you are not eligible for additional chrysalids for another 24 hours.

To clarify the chrysalis event since there's been some confusion about it, the chrysalis notification looks like this (I've changed it a little to make it clearer lol):

What's this? Someone's left a chrysalis lying about?! Type this to pick it up: Z9X

You must be the first person to post the three characters (i.e. "Z9X") in order to win the prize. For the record, your post will still qualify if you have the three characters as part of a larger message, though I imagine you probably won't have time to add any comments anyway.

Following this event, only one person's message will show up - this is intended. The chat will filter out and reject any posts containing the keyword if you weren't the winner - it's not that your message went missing, it's just that you were too slow :P

Grimm chrysalids are now available in the chrysalis cave, only until the end of Masquerade! Enjoy!!

Grimms... now with 100% more mane and antler





After the commencement of Masquerade Month, Arabasti seems to have lost a few marbles. He's been sighted muttering to himself and wandering around chat dropping candy for people - maybe if you come hang out you'll see him about?

Speaking of strange occurrences in chat, people have been reporting a spooky presence ghosting about and leaving strange items around...



Every so often, a link might pop up in chat directing you to a new page - if you're the first person to click this link, you may receive a Creepy Hollow Tree, Creepy Undead Hand, Pumpkin Vine or Pile of Bleached Bones for your troubles. But be careful, some links may include unexpected side-effects...

In order to be eligible for chat links, you must have posted in chat at least in the last 5 minutes and have not received an item from a chat link in the past 24 hours!



There is also a rare chance to receive a grimm chrysalis in the site chat! Be sure to watch the chat for a post containing a hash (#) and 3 random characters to type in. First person to type the characters gets the chrysalis!

You may now receive random candies while posting in the forums, to a maximum of 5 per day!

First off, this is just a reminder to please not ask or hint for scares in the site chat or forums, thank you for your co-operation! And now, on to our regularly scheduled news!

Khimeros' newest breed, the Grimm, is now available for viewing in the custom demo!



Grimms are a limited edition breed that will be available during masquerade (we will have to keep an eye on numbers before deciding if they will be available every year or not). In addition to being able to win Grimm Chrysalids from site events during masquerade, they will soon be available in the chrysalis cave for 20 beads each (only during masquerade). Grimms come with two free patterns and one free variation, or two free variations and one free pattern, with upper and under markings, as always, being free, and extra patterns and variations costing 5 beads each.

There are no current variations for the Grimm, this will likely change soon, however they will only be given select variations, not all variations. As always, you may choose variations that the pet does not visually posess, for breeding purposes.

Grimm hybrids may be available in future.

Woops I forgot to mention that mystery chrysalids are available from paranoia, in addition to candies and ghosts (though chrysalids are, of course, much more rare).
