First of all, we have a new feature to introduce! You can now enter the Khimeros Lottery and try your luck at winning a pile of trinkets! The Lottery can be found under Events in the top menu. You can buy as many tickets as you please and they are only 100 trinkets each. Every Monday the winner will be announced in the news.
So what are you waiting for?! There's a jackpot growing that might have your name on it!

It seems the majestic UNIQRONS have sufficiently populated. It's time for some brand new breedable khimbits - Ursa!

To breed yourself an Ursa, go to the Meadow -> Breed Khimbits. You will need to select two Ursa from your den to breed together. Not every combination works, but each combination that does work will give you the chance to produce a different color of Ursa. Please note that khimbit breeding is available for upgraded users only.

You may breed khimbits once every 12 hours; the counters reset at noon and midnight, site time. If you try one combo of khimbits and it is not a valid "recipe" to create a khimbit color, you will receive an error message and be able to try again. If your breeding attempt fails, you will need to wait until the counter resets to try again.

If you're really lucky, a successful breeding might also get you this handsome "twin" khimbit; the Molten Ursa!

Lovefest will soon come to an end, and to wrap up the festivities we are going to finish with a much-anticipated writing contest.

For this year's contest, craft a story around this environment image:



We have only a few rules:
- Your entry may include human characters, khimbits, NPCs, etc, but must contain at least two khimera-based characters.
- Your entry must be between 500 and 2500 words. Entries should be pasted directly onto the entry forum- please avoid difficult to read fonts and colors. You may edit your entry any time up until the contest closes.
- You may submit only one short story.
- Your entry must be G-RATED.
- All work must be original and your own. You may not collaborate with another writer to submit a single story.
- Please use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation, to the best of your ability. Entries must be in English.

The contest begins now and ends at 11:59 PM site time on March 10, 2013, and the prizes are as follows:

First place: User's choice of any non-hybrid chrysalis from the Chrysalis Cave

Second place: 10 beads

Third place: Monthly Double Pack

And a prize for participation will be distributed to at least two random entrants, with the possibility of more winners depending on the number of entries.

This is a reminder regarding the rules and etiquette surrounding gold customs.

We have been more than up front about the boundaries and limitations of gold custom orders, which in short is that you should not order a gold custom if you feel you will be seriously disappointed if it doesn't come out the way you wanted. In addition, you are not permitted to ask for alterations to a custom just because it didn't come out quite how you expected it. Alterations are only possible if you asked for something specific, like a color, that was within the boundaries of the details that you are allowed to specify, and your custom came out significantly different.

Hibbary has let me know that there have been some cases of users contacting her privately asking for changes to be made to their customs.

It is NOT acceptable to go to the artist, either via PM, email, or especially via her DA account, to try to get around the rules by asking her directly to make changes to a custom. All requests for changes must be made through the site, and not through the artist, who is under contract to the site to produce specific pieces of art, not to respond to requests that come directly from khimeros users. And, as I have previously stated, the only case in which changes to a custom will be entertained is in a case where the custom is significantly different than what was asked for, i.e. you asked for purple and got orange, NOT in cases where you would just have preferred a different interpretation of your theme.

Failure to abide by this rule in future may result in being denied access to gold custom events.

We have explained before that the only way that we can offer gold customs at such a low price and at such a high volume is if we offer themed customs that are artist's interpretation. If you feel you cannot, or do not wish to abide by the boundaries and limitations of themed gold customs, to avoid disappointment please do not order themed gold customs.

As a last note, please be aware that courtesy is expected toward all other users and to staff, as well. This includes our art staff. Please avoid any rude or inflammatory comments regarding gold customs or any other site artwork, either in the forums, site chat or any other public areas of the site.
