First off, a bit of a reminder concerning the Ayalar design contest. Designs may contain a combination of up to 4 patterns/serums (upper and under do not count against the 4) or additional variations (mane and unicorn horn are included free with the base), and no more than 2 glows (either regular or inverse, body or marking glows). Any designs that do not adhere to these rules by having more than the alloted number of markings, mutations, or glows will be automatically disqualified when the contest is judged.

Also, the pool of master items for the Bead Bribery event is officially open! Now when you purchase items from the event shop you might get lucky and win a spiffy master Drasuna or Flutterfoxx khimbit. Good luck to everyone participating, and we do apologize for the delay. We ran into a few technical difficulties that needed to be sorted out to ensure the best experience possible for you guys.

An additional note: we'll be monitoring the number of master items remaining in the pool, and if we run out the shop will close until we replenish them. We'll reopen it once we've filled the pool with master items again.

**Make sure you read this entire news post carefully if you intend to participate in the event!**

If you somehow missed the original news post regarding the bead bribery event, please be sure to scroll down in the news to find it!

All bead purchases from now until the end of June are eligible to receive bead bribery points which can be spent in the bead bribery shop! The shop is located under "events" in the main navigation bar. **PLEASE NOTE** that while the shop is now open and you can purchase items from it, if you do so now you will not be eligible to receive the random extra bonus items detailed below. The shop has been made available so that you can view the possible items that you can purchase with your points, and so that you can take note of the price of each item. Keep in mind that you receive 10 BB Points for each string of beads you purchase. You will be able to see a running total of your points at the top of the event shop page. When the bonus items become available, we'll let you know via a news post (should be later today).

There is also a raffle associated with the bead bribery event! If you have any extra points lying around you can purchase a raffle token for 1 point. The prize is a gold custom khimbit! The raffle page can be found under events in the main site navigation.

Extra bonus items!

The extra bonus items mentioned above are master khimbits of the flutterfoxx and drasuna khimbit breeds! There will be a single pool of these master items from which an automated script will draw. You have a rare chance to receive a bonus master khimbit for each item you purchase from the event shop (the probability to receive a master item will be scaled depending on the price of the item you are purchasing). The pool of master khimbits will not be visible to users, as we wish to preserve the surprise regarding the colors that are available. This pool will not "run out" as we'll simply add more khimbits as the pool begins to deplete.

As an extra note regarding these master khimbits: The master khimbits are included as an extra fun little bonus for the event. They are intended as a fun extra and not as "investments". There will likely be a good number of these khimbits given out, so we recommend that if you are trying for a master item, you do so because you want to have a master item, and not because you think that you will be able to amass piles of beads from selling the copies.

A Note on Ayalars

Ayalars can only be created with an ayalar chrysalis, not with a hybrid chrysalis

Ayalars are alternates of either ayalon-embarr khimeras or embarr-ayalon khimeras. The ayalar alternate has a pass down rate of 20% if one parent is an ayalar and 40% if both parents are ayalars. Keep in mind also that this only applies to offspring that have the correct base (ayalon-embarr or embarr-ayalon). If the offspring is a kalan, for example, there is 0% chance that it can show an ayalar base (though it may carry the ability to pass down an ayalar base!) Keep this in mind when setting up breeding pairs.

There is no chance for an ayalar base to appear "randomly" from a non-ayalar line.

Custom ayalars come with 2 free patterns plus the mane and unicorn horn variations.

A Note on Hybrids

There have been a lot of questions lately regarding hybrids and whether any future hybrids will be available to create using hybrid chrysalids. The answer is yes. In fact, I'll say that excluding the ayalar and the new retro month breed, the next hybrid base we release on the site will be createable with hybrid chrysalids, and available as a possible outcome when breeding regular khims.

With the Bead Bribery event right around the corner, we have added the ayalars to the custom demo for you to play around with. Remember that the ayalar is a hybrid and an alternate, and thus you will need to enter ayalon-embarr or embarr-ayalon as the breed, refresh the demo, and then choose Ayalar from the drop-down menu.

And now that ayalars are available, we'd like to announce:

THE AYALAR CUSTOM DESIGN CONTEST!

Rules: Create a custom design using an Ayalar base and a combination of up to 4 patterns/serums (upper and under do not count against the 4) or additional variations (mane and unicorn horn are included free with the base). You may also use up to two glows (either regular or inverse, body or marking glows). There is no design theme, go nuts!

Take a screenshot of your design and post it HERE. If you can't fit all of the markings/colors in your screenshot, write down the information in your entry post. If you have any questions about the contest, you can ask HERE.

There will be three winners who will receive their design as a custom ayalar! You may enter one design only.

People are encouraged to save their designs in the custom demo, that way if you win you can just send the link in for easy creation :) Also as a note, we will probably be adding dragonfly wings to the demo for ayalars if people want to wait on entering till they are in.

Contest closes Friday June 14th at midnight, site time.

NOTE ON POSTING DESIGNS:

Just a reminder to all people wanting to participate in the contest, you will need to take a screenshot of your design or save it to your computer and then upload it to Photobucket (or a similar photo sharing website) and then post the image in the contest entry thread. If you do not do this and instead just copy/paste it directly from the demo, it will get wiped and replaced by another random design as people are messing with the demo. Your designs are not saved in the demo (unless you use a save slot and send that link).

To post an image in the forum thread, simply click on the little picture image in the top of the text box and insert the link and it will show the image. Feel free to post both the screen shot of the markings and the larger image as some others have been doing.

Please make sure that the correct design is posted, otherwise your design will be disqualified (as it obviously isn't the one you were supposed to enter).
Also, it would be helpful to save your design in a save slot, if you have one available, because if yours gets picked it will make it ten times easier for us to make your custom for you (especially when placing of serums).

AND IN OTHER NEWS...

Some of the older items have been adjusted to fit on the newer breeds. The gold heart locket, crystal crown, crystal necklace, bobble scarves, and peace necklace are now also available for grimms, draakiths, gryphs, and witaras. In addition, the leather collars, fae collar, and snowflake necklace have been fixed on grimms and should work properly now.
