There is a correction needed regarding the quantity of Kiger Treats being released each day. We actually have a total of 160 treats being released daily, with half of those being released in foraging!

And speaking of Kigers, the Embarr base poll has now closed, and a slight majority has voted to use the Kiger base. After again discussing the pros and cons for releasing the Kiger as the new Embarr base, the staff have decided that it is the best choice for the site as a whole and we will proceed with working to get it ready for release. It will include all of the usual patterns and variations, and we even have plans to spice them up a bit! For those who are disappointed in the outcome, please keep in mind that we do still plan to use the other more dynamic base as an Embarr Alternate in the future.

Some users have expressed an interest in using the kiger base as the new embarr base.

We have another base that was being worked on, but it needs to be re-drawn and as such, we will not have time to release it this month as we had planned.

Therefore, we're offering a couple of options.

SCENARIO I

We can alter the kiger base to make it more "embarr-like", that is, add the tufted embarr ears, and include some modifications that make it more in-line with our original embarr breed description which was not a horse, but a mixed equine with horse/donkey/unicorn etc. traits.

In this scenario the new base would have the classic large, tufted embarr ears, as well as a stand-up mane and a zebra-like tail. The "mane" mutation would give the embarr base the long flowing kiger mane and tail. It is possible that we could take advantage of the breed mutation option to add a second kind of horse tail so that you could have a stand up mane and horse tail together, for creating ancient horse breed types, like the Norwegian Fjord horse.

If you select this scenario, we can release the new embarr base later this month and the current embarr base will become the "vintage" base. The embarr base that was revealed at Christmas would then become an alternate embarr base when it is finished being revamped.

SCENARIO II

Scenario II would involve simply waiting until we have time to revamp the Christmas base. Unfortunately, due to schedule constraints, we cannot say when this would be. At least 3 months, but likely much longer as the embarr would then probably be bumped down the breed rotation, with a different breed base coming out in the early fall.

It's your choice! So make your voice heard! You have 3 days to vote in the poll. Most of our active users are online within a 3 day period, and we do need to get moving on mods and mutations for the kiger base if that is indeed what people choose, so 3 days is as long as we can spare.

EDIT: Since people have been asking for visual reference, here is an image of the originally presented holiday pose, with a Kiger image as well for comparison. Please note that it is still possible for the holiday pose to be edited from this example, and that the Kiger will also be undergoing edits if it is chosen as the new default base.

Edit: I have removed the embarr bases that were briefly posted here because I do not want people to get the impression that these are the bases being voted on. The kiger base would need tweaking and the base revealed at Christmas needs to be completely done over... so we don't want to give the wrong impression.
