Get your lab coats and safety goggles on, it's time for some very experimental breeding! There have been reports of a suspicious person lurking around khimeros, apparently a little too interesting in all the lab work that has started up this month. Some suspect this person has released a contagion that influences Khimera DNA and it's had a very strange effect on some khimera's offspring, some producing a sad khimera called the Gloomdog. May I draw you attention to this specimen, we've dubbed him Experiment #13. Now, unfortunately we don't fully understand how the Gloomdog is produced. We can confirm that only pure Likos offspring seem to be affected, and there seems to be a correlation to khimera generation and what characteristics the Gloomdog has. This will require the greatest minds of khimeros to figure out, we hope you will join us. To volunteer your assistance all you need to do is breed! Hopefully with enough testing we can pinpoint the source and eliminate the contagion before it mutates and spreads to other khimera breeds. We are hoping to wrap up experimentation by November 16, however, due to the nature of this work, this is only a speculative date. We will post news as soon as a cure is found. 21 Comments

A new Bead Sale has started! Beads are now 10% off! In addition to that, we are also offering a bonus of one extra bead for every bead string purchased. This is ONLY for our users outside the US, to help balance purchases against the strong US dollar. You must purchase at least 4 bead strings (20 beads) in a single transaction. You can then submit a help desk telling us the name of the country you live in and the paypal account you used to make the purchase. Only purchases made from this point onward will be eligible. Country of origin will be checked against your IP address, and those who attempt to deceive staff will be banned, so please be honest. Please also note that the extra beads awarded during the sale do NOT award you Bead Points. Gold Custom Khimbits Gold Khimbits are once more available to order! Orders will be open until the end of December! Thunder Bird Ethira Cub Gold customs cost $65 (65 Beads) each and include a Generation 1 khimera base of your choice from the original 7 khimera breeds: Asadia, Ayalon, Draak, Embarr, Kalan, Likos, and Uwila. If you choose to use an alternate or special breed for the base, you must provide your own chrysalis/beads. (Ex: If you would like to have a draakith as the base breed, you will need to pay the 10 bead fee to upgrade from a draak to a draakith. If you would like to make your uwila base into a witara base instead, you will have to provide the witara chrysalis + 5 beads.) PLEASE note that not all khimbit breeds and poses are available! Please refer to the KHIMBIT INDEX for an updated list of all khimbits and their associated poses. Unique Khimbits (wyvir, lambkin, flyger, tibbar, firion, bumblebuzz, etc., are ONLY available in their standard versions. We also have two NEW bases added to the list! These bases will be available for our NEW feature coming soon, Gold Growables!!! Drapurr Fleur The FULL list of available bases can be found in the Gold Khimbit FAQ thread! (Hedgehogs are also available, but ONLY as a Khimbit Gold!) **For more information, you can read more about Gold Growables in the new Encyclopedia Entry!** ~*~ In order to submit an order for a gold custom khimera, you will need to create the "underlay" design first and save it to one of your CUSTOM DEMO slots. You will then assign this design to your gold custom, which can be done very simply through the gold custom order form. If you select extra markings, you will be charged the extra beads through the custom form. You must have the necessary beads, as well as any potions or essences required to create the custom, in your inventory when you submit your order, or it will fail. If you want to apply dyes, glows, etc to your underlay later, simply leave them out of your design when you submit. There is now a space in the order form where you can include specific suggestions for your theme! For example, you may suggest that your overlay has an argyle pattern on the legs or has gold embossed runes on the neck. You may not suggest things that would require additional or changed line art (such as wings/accessories/etc.). This does not guarantee that your suggestion will be used, nor have it exactly as you say, but it will hopefully give Hibbary a closer idea to what you're looking for. If you have them, you may use Accessory Custom Tokens with your order to obtain lineart edits! If you wish to use accessory tokens (up to 4 per order) you must state this in the suggestions box, and state how many you wish to use. The accessory tokens must be in your inventory when you order, and will be removed when your order is processed. *You may use Gold Choice Tokens to order a gold khimbit, but these orders MUST be submitted via Help Desk!* You can view all of the rules for gold custom ordering in the Gold Khimbit FAQ thread. You must read these rules before ordering a gold custom. You can find gold custom order forms HERE. Phoenix Flyger ALL CUSTOMS ARE ARTIST'S INTERPRETATION. We cannot stress this enough. This means that you may not ask for changes unless the custom is significantly different than what you asked for - for example you asked for blue and got orange instead. This is to ensure that we can get any customs out in a timely manner and keep the price as low as possible. If you feel that you're likely to be upset if your overlay does not come out exactly the way you expect, please do not order a custom - this will save everyone from potential upset. Do not contact the artist directly to ask for changes. If you feel that your custom came out significantly different from the order you placed, you may ONLY request changes via a help desk report. Users who attempt to circumvent a ruling by Staff on whether or not a custom can be edited by contacting Hibbary, be it on this site, her DA page, or by any other means, risk losing the privilege of participating in gold custom events (or being subject to other disciplinary action). We also remind users that our site rules regarding courtesy apply toward staff, as well.
