`About the Realms

`The Loners: To the east lay the lands of the loners. Kymiras, the current High Priestess of the mountainous dwelling Khimeras, presides over these steep and treacherous territories . The Loners are a sect of self-imposed exiles, preferring to dwell well away from others of their kind. Within the vast caverns of their mountain stronghold, they have formed a tight knit society of Seers and Healers. Theirs is the order of a religious nature--their patron goddess the sole reason they live where they do--to seek unhindered communion with the all-seeing goddess of nature and magic.

Loner mythos claims that those touched by dull pelts or an odd splicing of colors that do not match with the vain ideals of other herds, covens, or packs of their birth, have been touched by her hand. Selected to serve her for all their years. It is, to them, a great honor. Loners do not breed, devoting their lives instead to the mountain goddess and providing services of prophesies and healing to those bold enough to venture to their remote lands.

`Hymn Mountains: Easily the most bountiful of the lands, the Hymn Mountains are a land of unparalleled beauty. The lands here are never touched by winter's hand, and far and wide are a lovely stretch of shimmering emerald. Flowers blanket and climb over natural formed trellises, and by night glow phosphorous blues, whites, purples, and soft rose pinks and oranges.

Fireflies amass in the lower altitude meadows and glens by the thousands, and when night falls, light them up as bright as daylight itself. Waterfalls tumble down steep rock slopes in several areas, though the pools formed below by such rushing waters are vast and a murky inkwell blue. Sometimes, in a peculiar act of nature, the waterfalls provide a natural veil of secrecy--smaller falls rushing over the tops of hollowed out caves set into forest floors.

An ideal place free of predators, the Embarr and Embarr hybrid herd resides here, lead at the moment by the fiery young stallion, Karnival.

`Echo Fields: A shallow bowl of a valley, shaped in the form of two cupped palms held closely together. The fields are a swath of brilliant jewel-green, and come spring and summer are dotted with pale white and blue violets, white and pink foxglove, and delicate white and orange star-shaped flowers. To the south lies the field's only large body of water--a lake that, in it's most shallow places, is clear enough to see to the bottom. The bottom of the lake is coated with a fine layer of lapis lazuli and fool's gold.

A ring of northern mountains shroud and surround the field, making a beautiful sight year round, with their eternally snow-capped peaks always in view like a natural fence. It is here that the Kaldan and Kaldan hybrids make their home. It is currently lead by the Head Lioness, Nightsong.

`Astral Fields: A city of stone that rests atop trees of ebony, Astral Fields is at once a desolate and breathtaking place. The branches of the trees serve as the walls of the city, sheltering the vast turrets and towers from view. The trees themselves are hundreds upon hundreds of years old, and soar to impressive heights--and have withstood even the fiercest of gales. Within the stone halls reside those of the Uwila, and the Uwila hybrids. The trees ring a Stonehenge, used for celebrations and festivals, as well as a meeting place for news of solemn importance.

The outlying fields are the hunting grounds for these noble predators, and are lush indeed, dotted with asters and lilies of all colors, and full of bountiful prey.

`Zodiac Meadow: A popular place for aspiring astronomers or simple stargazers alike, Zodiac Meadow is unlike any other. Dominated by swaths of pale green grasses tipped in fragile blues and twilight purples, there is little in terms of protective cover. No trees dot the meadow, and thus cannot interfere with the melding of both land and horizon. Small lakes and ponds dot the meadows, reflecting the sky day and night. At night, however, the truly wondrous aspect of the meadow can be viewed. The sky is absolutely blanketed with constellations, seeming to blend straight into the earth. It is, in fact, how the meadow earned its name.

It is here that those who number among the Ayalon and the Ayalon call their home.
