The pikuu has flown in to roost in the custom demo, sponsored by Cherry-Voke!

Pikuus are uwila-embarr hybrids, and you can find the chrysalis in the Chrysalis Cave for 20 beads each!

First of all, you will find a NEW NPC linked from the main Growables page! Hazer now hosts the Growables Shop, where you can find a rotating selection of new and previously-released eggs, seeds, and new PATTERNS (more about that below!). There are bead, trinket and token purchase prices depending on the egg. Growable items will ROTATE on a bi-monthly basis so be sure to get them while they're hot!

On the topic of PATTERNS, these are a brand new growable item that you can take to Thimble's Tree Top to grow into khimera wearables! Items may be static (belonging to a specific base and sticking with/moving with it in deco) or moveable/resizeable.

The Classic Kiger Rose Garland is the first available pattern, and can be purchased for 350 token points. Each pattern purchased will give you 40 harvests of completed deco items! A leaf item to pair with the rose garland will also be out soon! In fact, ALL lineage-based growable items have been upgraded from 25 to 40 harvests per item!

Next up, in addition to enigma patterns, you can now get FULL BODY enigmas at the same rate!

We have also changed the way images are shaded for growables, it should mean that shading will show up better on the full-body enigma growables, darken shading without dulling colors as much, and adjust shading based on the darkness of the base color.

Last but not least, if you have accidentally used up your Spotted Betta Egg that came in the welcome gift, you will get a notification that will take you to your welcome gift where you can claim another egg!

Growables Limitations

We all love our growables, so this is probably unwanted news, however for the server costs we have had to add limitations to growables, as discussed in an earlier news post. That dreaded time has come, I'm afraid. However now that I've completed growable limitations we will soon open the new area (very soon) and types of growables as well as work on more fun things for the system!

I'm going to break down the types of limitations added in this update in hopes that it makes it easier to understand and in the long run we'll be making an encyclopedia containing the same information for reference, and I have also tried to make the limitations as obvious as possible in the UI itself.

Here are the three types of limitations:

Legacy

These are the all growables that have existed until the point of this update.

Any user custom eggs from before the update and any they produce will also be legacy.
Legacy eggs limit will count towards the weekly limit.

This is so that those who paid for these / got these eggs before the update who have had them since they've been infinite will still remain infinite, however there is still the weekly limit applied. (We'll talk more on the weekly limit later)

Infinite

These are special kinds of growables; they are growables that either cannot be obtained any more or are very difficult to obtain. Growables that fall into this category are: Gold/Ultimate Growables (aka ones that users have the MASTER item for and control the distribution themselves) and any account bound growables that cannot be obtained again (such as the Betta starter growable from the welcome gift).

These also count towards the weekly limit just as the legacy seeds do.
These were made infinite due to how difficult they are/impossible to obtain.

Unfortunately Gold/Ultimate Growables are something we did years ago without the foresight to some troubles they could cause (aka the users with the MASTERS items leaving the site or going on extended hiatus) and therefore making the Growables almost impossible to get.

In the future, if we ever do Gold/Ultimate Growables again it will come with the stipulation that there has to be at least a small constant supply to the site so that this un-obtainability issue does not happen again in the future.

Lineage

This is going to be the most common kind of restriction for Growables in the future.
Any Growable that isn't set as infinite will be set as Lineage from now on.

What this means is that Any Planted G1 Lineage Egg will start its own family tree with restrictions.
The default number of Growables that can be obtained from a lineage is 40.
Creating more eggs does not count towards the restriction, only creating the Growable itself.

In the future we will be having an update to shops which will let us sell lineage eggs with a larger family tree so we can do such things as discounts for buying the larger trees.

Once you hit the limit of the lineage, all eggs/seeds/patterns and pending Growables of that lineage will vanish.

This means if you had 3 completed Growables of Lineage #49 in your Lagoon for example, and you hadn't decided on if you wanted to egg/seed/pattern them or complete them... and you only had 1 left of your limit for Lineage #49... if you complete any Growable from Lineage #49, all the seeds/eggs/patterns and those three completed growables you were sitting on undecidedly will also disappear.

You will see a warning notification when you're on your last redeem and your first redeem.
It will warn you that if you claim this -- the lineage will expire.

The same applies to if you just grew your first Growable from a lineage, it will warn you that if you complete the Growable from this lineage which has no more eggs in it (since its the first of its family tree) that you would pre-emptively end the said lineage and lose out on making more Growables from it.

Other Changes

Restrictions on moving eggs/seeds/patterns
To get this system working properly without too many consistency issues regarding eggs/seeds/patterns and dynamic limitations (such as having 25, 50, 100, etc... limits from shops) we have had to remove the option to move seeds to the inventory and also any seeds that remain in the inventory wont be able to be moved to galleries and the safety deposit box.

We understand that this will mean your egg basket/seed pouch/pattern box will start to become much more full with potential eggs/seeds/patterns you don't want (unless you use the new deletion button!) so it is planned to have another section of the egg basket/seed pouch/pattern box which would act as a safety deposit box for these growables and wont show up on the list.

Weekly Limit
Any legacy or unlimited Growables needed to be capped as well otherwise the whole limitation system is pointless, but using a weekly limit we can make it less painful for users who are used to having no limit.
Once you hit this weekly limit, you will no longer be able to complete any more unlimited/legacy Growables until the next week. No Growables or seeds/eggs/patterns will be deleted in this case, you just won't be able to redeem them until the next week.

The limits are currently as so (we may change it if it's too restrictive or makes not difference due to it being to high, so fine tuning is to be expected):
  • Normal Users: 75
  • Upgraded Users: 100
  • Boosted Users: 200
Just like Enigmas - you can boost the weekly limit for beads.
It will cost 3 beads for a month of a boosted weekly limit.
We have gone back and matched the Enigma Boost to this price as well.
From now on the Enigma Boost will cost 3 beads for a month of a boost instead of a week.

To make up for the users who bought the Enigma boost and to celebrate some of the changes Growables have been getting (less of the limits and more of whats to come) we have given everyone a 1 month boost to Enigma Chances!

Planned Changes / Additions

We're far from done as more QoL needs to be added in.
Here's the quick rundown:
  • Filtering based off limitations in seed modal (unlimited / legacy / lineage)
  • "Safety Deposit Box" purely for Growable eggs/seeds/patterns
  • QoL buttons such as "plant whole field randomly" etc..
  • Thimbles Tree Top & Khimera Accessory Growables (very soon!)
  • More fun things being added to Growables as an entirety (mutations, anyone?)
  • Warnings for using the last of any line (to hopefully stop people from completing their only Betta and not being able to grow any more for example)
Again, it sucks to have limits but ask most site owners and they will agree that limits are a necessary evil.
We've implemented this in a way that hopefully makes the impact as soft as possible, and hope you still enjoy the feature.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

As another gift: All users now have 10 more slots in each area!
Upgraded users now have 20 more slots in each area! Enjoy!

The Growables System has gotten an update... again!

The growables UI was pretty out-dated as far as the popups went and lacked the ability to easily add more functionality and features/information to them. So we've completely re-done the UI from scratch, having shiny new modals for everything! Alongside this are some quality of life updates and some nice daily free instant grows for users! Lets go through whats changed in a list below, then show you with a nice little GIF.

  • New seed planting modal.
  • Seed planting modal will retain its search, egg/seed filter and even scroll position allowing you to easily plant the same seed over and over
  • New seed filtering inside of said modal (some legacy seeds might not work with the filtering due to name issues)
  • New ability to instantly grow a growable to completion!
  • 5 Free Instant Grows Daily for Normal Users and 10 for Upgraded Members
  • Popup Modals now include the growable name in the title & the finished results name
  • Completion screen now shows a preview of the eggs/seeds you would get as well as the main result
  • Completion screen now has a Delete Growable option for when you don't want it and its seeds.
  • Completing a growable now won't refresh the page, allowing you to immediately plant another in its spot!
Since pictures are worth a thousand words, I wonder how many words the gif is worth? If you didn't want to read all that above you can just have a look below:

A lot changed with this update even though it might not look like it - so there's bound to be bugs.
Please report them either in the comments of this post or on the discord, and I'll look into fixing them ASAP.
Hope you enjoy the new Growables experience. :)
