In case your characters are feeling a little chilly, there are some new jeans and tees in at the crafter...

Poor Lin is starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. I wonder if someone else will step forward soon to help her out with making some of these clothing items?

User Shops

Nas checked out the user shop glitch, and while we were not able to pinpoint the exact reason it went crazy, we were able to determine that it was NOT due to any unauthorized access to the database or code.

You can buy from shops again, and we will be monitoring them closely to make sure everything is running correctly again.

Nas is running the script that will return items to their owners and trinkets to the buyers. It should go without saying that if you ever get items or trinkets from a glitch, they should not be used. Any items that WERE used in crafting will be reverted (that is, the crafted item will be un-crafted, and all the ingredients returned to their rightful owners).

Equipping to Characters

For those having difficulty equipping items to your Characters. The system is a little different than the one currently being used with the pets.

You do not have to add items to your HA one by one through your inventory page. ALL wearables that you own (that are not currently being worn) will show up on the "manage items" page of your character. You can then go through the list of equippable items and enable the ones you want to go on your Character.

From there you must choose from the dropdown box, from the options "below background", "above background" and "above body". If you have more than one item in any of those three categories, you can drag and drop the layers above and below each other to get the look you want. Then click "save".

You will still need to go back to your Character's page and hit the "Regenerate Image" button to see the changes. You may also need to do a hard refresh afterward (shift + F5 for firefox).

Just as a note, the wigs went out to everyone who currently had an account when we handed them out. If you created your account after that you won't have them. We will be making sure that everyone gets them, though.

As some of you may have noticed, we have introduced "Characters" to the site.

These are what most sites refer to as "human avatars", and are male and female figures that you can use to make an avatar of yourself, or maybe your roleplay characters or other original characters - the choice is yours!

Everyone gets one free Character, and additional characters can be purchased with beads.

You can choose the gender, skin color, hair color, and eye color for your avatars, and change these options as many times as you like.

Currently we only have one default set of expressions, however, the eyes, nose and mouth are all separate pieces and will be interchangeable when we have more expressions done.

You can equip clothing, backgrounds, khimbits and accessories to your Characters, and on their profile page there is an option to leave them "au natural" or equip the default underwear to them.

Everyone also received two default starter wigs for the HAs today. These will be made readily available, as they are starter items that everyone will have access to. The wigs are not color changeable, but when we get actual hairstyles into the demo, you will be able to change the color on those. The eyebrow color will also change to match the hair.

We don't have much in the way of clothing ready for them yet ^_^; however, we will be adding clothing, accessories and hairstyles on a regular basis.

You can access your Character(s) under "Main". You can choose whether or not to have your chosen Character display on your profile or not under "account" in the upper right corner. The human avatar demo/creator can be accessed under "World". You can also style your Character's pages using css just like you can with pet pages.

I hope you enjoy the new feature :)

We experienced a very odd glitch with user shops today.

All prices in shops reverted to 8 trinkets. This was caught very quickly, and not a huge number of items were actually bought up.

Don't worry, if any of your items were bought, they will be returned to you. We have logs for all items bought and sold and Nas just needs to write a script to return items.

Unfortunately this does mean that the items will be returned to your inventory and you will have to re-stock them in your shops -_-

You will also have to re-price your shops.

I'm really sorry about this guys, I know it's a drag. It's not something that could be helped, though.

Currently the user shops are down while we try to track down why this happened. We'll let you know when they are back up.

I am going to ask that you NOT send us reports that you "did not get your item back" unless you are 100% positively sure that you are missing something. Keep in mind, we can CHECK the logs. The logs contain information on ALL bought and sold items so if you didn't really sell something, we're going to see that.

It takes a lot of time for Nas to go through logs looking for "missing items" that were never there, or never in a person's shop. This takes time away from doing constructive things for the site. Therefore if we get any frivolous reports that turn out to be a case of "sorry I guess I miscounted", then there may be consequences.

There should be NO reason for any items to be missing once Nas runs the return script, so once again, please do NOT make a help desk report unless you are 100% sure something is missing, and keeping in mind that we have the ability to check the logs and know if you are REALLY missing something or not.

This is just a reminder that yes, some of the rarites and quantities of items are still "off". This will be addressed in the coming days as we move items around into different rarity catgories, possibly add new ones, and adjust the restock amounts.

The khimbits, btw, are supposed to be "very rare" the way they are right now, as these are non-festival khimbits. These khimbits return every other month, and if they were as common as festival khimbits they would soon be so common as to be worthless. That said, the "common" variation(s) of the khimbits are likely going to be tweaked to be a tad more common, but only one will stock at a time.
