Please note - this is a long news post but contains important information, so please read it all so that you don't miss out!

Since this is my first time posting news here, I'd like to start off by saying hi, I'm Withheld!, the current month's guest coder; it's been wonderful working with you guys so far. <3

We've got a few neat features up for you!

New Khimera Demo
Firstly, we've got a new Khimera Dress-Up Demo which showcases the site's extensive range of equippables! This means you can now check how any item on the site will look on your khimera before buying! The new system has replaced the old equippables system, so you can also use it to dress up your existing khimeras. You no longer have to click on an item and go to a new page to move and resize the item; simply click any item thumbnail and the image will auto-update! Select the item from the list on the right side of the demo and you can freely move and resize it on the image (assuming it's a moveable/resizeable item). Just click outside the red box when you're finished!

We've also added some new item categories to make sorting equippable items easier. If you notice any items that aren't categorized correctly, please post them here in the news comments!

A similar demo for Characters will be coming out very soon :)

Please note that the new feature works best in Firefox or Chrome web browsers. If you run into issues and are using another browser, please report the problem here in the news comments, and try again using Firefox or Chrome. You'll also need to have Javascript enabled! If you can't use Javascript for some reason, the old system for pet customisation is linked on the new page for your convenience.

And don't worry, you can still "ghost" your items - the khimera image doesn't change until after you regenerate it.

Price Reduction for Custom Khimera Patterns and Variations!
Next on the agenda: We are reducing the pattern and variation prices for all customs. That's right! Additional markings and mutations (above those included with the chrysalis price) now only cost 5 beads each. How awesome is that?

WHAT'S THAT? YOU BOUGHT A CUSTOM THIS MONTH? WELL, SUCKS TO BE YOU. No, seriously though, we'll be refunding all users who've purchased a custom February 1 onward to the current value of their custom. There'll be a page being released soon (within the next day or two) where you can collect on your extra beads, so just hold on tight for a few hours!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!

NEW RAINBOWRIFIC MARKINGS!


We now have Rainbow Markings for you! Go to the custom demo (either one will do) and enter "rrr100" as the color for any marking in order to rainbowify it. There is no extra charge for "normal" rainbow markings!

But normal rainbows are too boring you say?

We also have Rainbow Enigma Markings! If you enter a color between rrr101-rrr255 you'll get a rainbow enigma marking instead, which adds an additional 5 beads to the price of your custom.

How does this affect breeding? Combining two rainbow markings together will take a random rainbow value between the two. Combining a rainbow marking with a normal marking has a small chance to pass on a random rainbow marking, but otherwise the colour will be blended with a random hex! Neat, huh?

In order to push the rainbow markings through, we had to make some changes to the generator; let us know if any of your pets are looking a little different, and we'll get it fixed as soon as possible. We've also upgraded the site's javascript libraries to the most recent version, so just let us know if you see anything else buggy happening around the site ^^;

If you plan to use the multi pack opener with current treasures, be sure you do so before tomorrow afternoon, as new treasures will be released then! The multi pack opener only works with the most recent treasure pack release.

That's right, an automated trades system!


You can access trades through "Commerce--> Trades". (See second part of news post for news regarding our navigation!)


From here, you can access "Active Trades," "Your Trades," "Your Offers," and "Completed Trades/Offers" at the top of the page.


"Active Trades" is a list of all currently active trades. To view/make offers on a trade, click on its title on the left-hand side. If the trade contains a khimera, you can click on the khimera's picture to go directly to its page either from the main trades page or from within the trade. Offers can can be made in any combination of beads, trinkets, khimeras, and items. You may include a message with any offer you choose to make, which will only be visible to the owner of the trade.


Next up is "Your Trades." This is where you are able to create and manage your trades. Each trade may contain up to 10 unique items, in quantities of up to 100 each. (So, for example, you may put up to 100 geodes up for trade, and this counts as one of your 10 unique items.) Trades can include a combination of beads, trinkets, khimeras, and items. If you wish, you are permitted to create a trade that consists solely of currency, and put in the trade description what it is you are looking for.


After you "Create" and "Update" a trade, you can "Start" the trade, at which point it will become active. Once a trade is active, you will have two weeks until it expires. You may update a trade's description at any time, but you may only cancel an active trade once every thirty minutes.


From "Your Offers" you can double check all of the offers that you have made. To edit or cancel an offer, click on the trade that has the offer you wish to cancel. Keep in mind that you can view others' offers on lots as well as your own, and that others will be able to see what you have offered.


In "Completed Trades/Offers" you can check your complete trading history.


Regarding trading among accounts that share or have shared the same IP:
We will allow this on a trial basis, but only "fair trades" will be permitted- that is, trades of items of roughly equal value. For example, one wolf cerbie for one currently available khimbit is not considered a fair trade. We will monitor this, and if necessary we may have to disallow these kinds of trades.


But wait, there's more!
You'll notice that your drop downs have changed some. We have cleaned them up a bit, and moved things around to make more sense. Explore the new layout, and enjoy!


As a side note: Winterfest Shop will be closing in about two days, so make sure to use up those points!


AND! The Monthly Item is no longer located in the Main menu- from now on, you will have to retrieve it from the dragon in the Swamp. ;)

This is just a heads up that the Global Forum Rules have been clarified.

We have now specified that all threads require a topic. Meaningless posts (something that has always been considered spam here) are rather hard to pick out when you are in a thread about "anything".

In regards to the "This Is Chatter, So Let's Chat :P" thread in general chatter, you will no longer be able to receive activity points or khimbits from this thread, and the first post has been edited to indicate this. This is to avoid confusion as to why this thread without a firm topic has been allowed, while others are not. As so many of you seem to really enjoy chatting there we have left it up with this compromise.
