You have had time to consider, and it is now time to vote! You have one week to cast your vote. Voting results will be visible, but the selection of individual users will be kept confidential.

Please note that MARKINGS (tiger, under, etc) will still be visible even if you choose to have opacities made invisible, and you will still be able to choose the opacity that you want, when creating customs or adding dyes.

There are three choices - to keep marking opacities visible, to have opacities be made invisible, or, to state that you have no strong feeling one way or the other. We urge every user to vote, even if you have no strong feelings. Have your voice heard!

Must come to an end. Even Masquerade.

This is your 48 hour warning!

In two days, all of the Masquerade events will end: Paranoia, Scare Tactics, and the ability to craft Khistopher and Arabasti costumes will all vanish. Those Grimm chrysalids that have yet to be foraged will remain available until they are all claimed, but in 48 hours you will no longer be able to purchase them from the Chrysalis Cave. The Masquerade event shop will remain open for a while longer so that people can spend their accumulated points.

When khimeros first opened, we really thought that we could get away from the idea that only 100 opacity patterns make a khimera valuable. We had intended to have a system where pets would be judged by their appearance, and opacity would just be used as a tool for breeding. However, it did not work out that way. As most of you will have noticed, the actual appearance of a khimera plays second fiddle to the numbers. Khimeras that don't have 100% opacities just don't sell as often, or for as many trinkets, as those that have 100% markings.

If I'd known that the game was going to go this way, we'd have made opacities invisible from the start. The game was intended to be visual, not based on achieving "all 100's".

So, we are considering making a change to the game, whereby pattern opacity would be made invisible to the user.

To get an idea of what breeding without opacities would be like, you can use fenniks as an example. You can view the markings on a fennik, but not their opacities, and thus when selling a fennik, the only thing that matters is how good the fennik looks, as opposed to what the opacity of the markings is.

If we made marking opacities invisible, we would also create some way to be able to view what alternate khimeras look like with the alt image removed, since, if we have a visual breeding system, you will need to know what the khimeras look like in order to breed them.

Enigma "opacities" would remain visible, since these are not really opacities but enigma pattern numbers.

Note, that there is no poll option to only have opacity show up for some people (the owner, for example), or to only show up some of the time. In order for a system like this to work, opacity has to be completely removed as a factor, otherwise there's no point in changing from the current system.

We will be putting up an official poll for this, but we want to give everyone a few days to discuss/think about it, first.
