Index: Firefly Potions and other special effects potions
Glow effects are PERMANENT, so be sure to preview your khimera before using that potion! Each potion is for one-time use. Glow effects also pass down when you breed your khimera!
Firefly Potions
Firefly, Rainbow Firefly, and Enigma Firefly Potions
If you are lucky enough to find one of these potions, you can use it to add a glow effect around your khimera's body!
Firefly, Rainbow, and Enigma Mini Potion Packs
These mini potions will allow you to add a glow to your khimera's markings! Each pack contains 1-4 Mini Potions. You will need one mini potion for each marking you wish to add a glow effect to.
Inverse Firefly Potions
They come in the usual flavors - standard, rainbow, and rainbow enigma--but instead of making your khimera glow on the outside, they will create an inner glow within the body or the marking that you select.
Potion Packs can be opened to give 1-4 of that specific potion type.

Using Firefly Potions
You can use these potions via the Edit Through Demo link on your khimera's page, or by adding them to your new khimera at time of creation via the custom demo.
1. Ensure you have your firefly potion in your inventory.
2. Go to your Khimera's profile page (click on its image in your lair)
3. Click the "Change Khimera Genetics" link in the Actions box
4. Add your potion(s) by selecting "Dynamic" or "Static" from the drop-downs.
- 4a. Base Glows can be found in the "pick your colors" section.
- 4b. Marking Glows can be found by clicking "+ Potion"
5. Enter your colour choice. A Hex colour picker will pop up.
- 5a. To use Rainbow potions, manually enter rrr100 as the colour.
- 5b. To use Enigma potions, manually enter any number between rrr101 - rrr315.
6. Choose your opacity (100 or less).
7. Choose your glow width, Narrow, Medium, or Wide.
8. Click Refresh Custom.
9. Ensure the Khimera looks how you want. Repeat steps 4-7 until you are satisfied.
10. Scroll down and ensure that the potion showing under "Extra Items Needed" is the one in your inventory.
11. Click "Edit Khimera"
A "dynamic" glow will be the same color as the base or marking chosen, and will change with the marking color in future offspring. A "static" glow will be whatever color you choose.
Firefly Potions can be created by collecting wild fireflies in the foraging grounds and in the Lounge (live chatroom), and visiting Lin, one of our crafting NPCs.
Overlay Removal Potions
Only available during special events, these potions will remove an overlay image from a khimera (such as Wishing Well, Platinum, and Gold overlays).
Toon Potions
These potions flatten the shading on khimeras, giving them a "cartoon" appearance.

The Toon Potion can be used in the custom demo at time of khimera creation, or via the Change Khimera Genetics link in the Actions panel on a khimera's lookup. Please keep in mind that, at the moment, there is no way to reverse this effect, so make sure you really want to toonify your khimera before you do it.
The toon effect also passes down to offspring at the rate of 20% if one parent has been toonified, and 40% if both parents have been.
Alternatification Breeding Potions
The Alternification Breeding Potion increases your chance at receiving an alternate khimera from your next breeding with whatever khimera you use it on. Keep in mind that an alternate is one of the alternative khimera forms that can be found in the demo, i.e. the Witaras, Draakiths, Siluris, etc. An Alternification Breeding Potion will NOT increase your chances to receive an overlay from a gold custom or a khimera that has been dipped in the wishing well, but will increase your chances of, for example, having a witara born instead of a standard uwila.
It can only be used where the parent has an alternate base (you can't, for example, use it with two uwilas to get a witara offspring). The use of this potion will increase your chances at receiving an alternate offspring from 20% to 50%, and it does stack. Therefore, if you use an Alternification potion on two Draakiths and then breed those two Draakiths together, you are guaranteed to receive a Draakith offspring from that breeding.
Instant Birth Potions
The Instant Birth Potion will allow you to instantly receive the offspring from the khimera you use it on. It can be used directly from your inventory. You will be prompted to select a female khimera that is guarding a chrysalis.
The following potions were first available during Retro Month 2013 when opening Retro Packs, but some of them can be purchased for Trinkets in the Trinket Section of the Cash Shop.
Base Color Change Potion
Can be used to change the base color on an existing khimera.
Pattern Color Change Potion
Can be used to change the color of a pattern on an existing khimera.
Variation Color Change Potion
Can be used to change the color of a variation on an existing khimera.
Pattern Addition Potion
Can add a pattern onto an existing khimera.
Pattern Subtraction Potion
Can remove a pattern from an existing khimera.
Variation Addition Potion
Can add a variation to an existing khimera. These are available for purchase in the Cash Shop.
Variation Subtraction Potion
Can add a variation to an existing khimera. These are available for purchase in the Cash Shop.
Serum Reposition Potion
Can move/resize a serum pattern on an existing khimera. These are available for purchase in the Cash Shop.
